Morningstar Behavioral Services was started by Natalie Mengel to bring school psychological and  ABA therapy services to schools and families in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. 

Natalie graduated from Indiana University's School Psychology Program in 2011 and  earned her BCBA in 2016 after completing her coursework with the Florida Institute of Technology. Natalie has extensive experience as a school psychologist and behavior analyst. 

Natalie has particular interests in school avoidance, toilet training, behaviors characterized by negative reinforcement (avoidance and escape) contingencies, academic applications of behavior analysis, antecedent interventions and problem behavior in schools and home. As both a school psychologist and BCBA she has extensive experience treating problem behaviors that impact educational outcomes and inclusion in educational environments. 

Natalie has taught at the university level for many years. She has taught in the School Psychology graduate program at Valparaiso University and in the Education Department at Indiana University Bloomington. She currently teaches courses in research methods, developmental psychology, introduction to psychology and special topics courses in the Psychology Department at Indiana University Northwest. 

Natalie has testified as an expert witness in due process hearings for families in the state of Illinois. 

She is licensed as a school psychologist in both Illinois and Indiana and board certified as a behavior analyst (BCBA). She is a member of the Illinois Association of School Psychologists, the Association for Behavior Analysis International and the Association for Contextual and Behavioral Science. 

We serve Lake, Cook, DuPage, Will and Kankakee counties in Illinois. We serve Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana.
